Just wanted to document some issues I noticed while using v1.0.2 in 16:10 (1280x800 Fullscreen, Steam Deck OLED). I tried not to include any issues of elements simply being displayed in 16:9 as I know that since this project and game are very new, changes to those will definitely take more time and work.
I don’t think this happened on v1.0.0, but under all dialogue is a blue streak. This happens regardless of if it is with a character with a portrait. I imagine it has something to do with the fact that the bottom left corner elements when portraits are present now stretch to the edge of the screen.
Circle effects present in the AoA finishers are cut off and don’t reach the edges of the screen. I’m not sure if the graphics simply don’t have a top/bottom or if they are being covered by something.
In choice-select menus, thin blue lines span across the top and bottom of where the 16:9 screen would end. I don’t think I’ve ever even seen these appear in 16:9 because they’re so thin and right at the edge, but even if they do, I think there’d be no harm in removing them if possible.
The time-of-day transition screen elements span the whole screen, although the black background only reaches the bottom half of the additional 16:10 screen space.
Junpei’s AoA finisher’s background either does not reach the top of the 16:10 screen space or is covered by some bar.
Similarly, Mitsuru’s finisher does not reach the left edges of the 16:10 screen space. Based on the fact that you can see the background of the AoA ending in the bottom left, I think the black at the top is due to it not reaching all the way and not it being covered by something.
I’m not sure if the support portraits are separate images with the tops cut off, but if not, the top of anyone’s head that speaks in the support corner is cut.
The town map has a stray white square that appears in the bottom left when selecting a location at either Iwatodai Dorm or Naganaki Shrine. However, it’s possible that this may happen at any location when it has only one option available to go to. I included a photo when selecting Iwatodai Station Strip Mall as well for comparison.
Those are all the issues I’ve noticed so far within the constraints I mentioned at the beginning. Despite those, this is an amazing project that even within the game’s very recent release works and looks incredible. Thank you for making it! I hope progress continues well.
