Agreed, seems a bit backwards that Java 11 is valid but Java 23 is not. |
I've run into this limitation a few times myself and, no matter how small, it is always an inconvenience. |

This is similar to #5636. The company I work for deprecated Java 21 in favor of Java 23 and doesn't allow using/downloading installers from non-intranet sources. Java 22 is available for now, but it might get removed soon as well.
Describe the solution you'd like
I'd like the Apex extension to allow any Java version newer than 21. TBH, I find the fact that the Apex extension allow only 3 specific Java versions unnecessarily restrictive. I totally understand why old Java versions aren't supported, but can't come up with a good reason it prevents people from using newest versions.
