Changing permalinks to use non-www from within the admin panel?

Hello! It seems that vvveb defaults to using the www.domain.com version of the domain. I know this can be fixed with a redirect, but is there a way to change it in the admin panel that I'm not aware of?

Vvveb generates only relative urls like /page/about it does not generate absolute urls that include the domain like www.domain.com/page/about to keep things simple.

The additional www subdomain might be added by the browser https://superuser.com/questions/965229/why-does-google-chrome-automatically-add-www-prefix-for-some-websites-but-it-do

You can change the default site domain from *.*.* to domain.com in site settings http://demo.vvveb.com/admin/index.php?module=settings/site&site_id=1

But this will only cause the the www.domain.com address to show a 404 not found page or show the default website.

Until the redirect manager plugin is available you can use this simple plugin to redirect to domain.com if you don't want to change your webserver settings.

Thank you! I realize that this might be happening because it's not a typical TLD. It's a .design domain, so that could explain it!

Even Firefox does this, interestingly.

The issue is that if I use domain.com in the site settings, then all the other pages seem to no longer be working, as if the routing is not done correctly somewhere on my server. What might cause this?

And yet another extremely strange issue discovered just now.

I applied domain.com to the settings.

I changed the theme afterwards.

After that, I have two versions of the website: one that is www. and the other one that is non-www

The www. has the default theme and its initial content (that I changed)

The non-www has the new theme, no content changes

Is this the intended behavior? I am on the latest version 1.0.6

This happens because the default behaviour if a site is missing is to fallback to a default site instead of showing a 404 page.

After setting domain.com as site domain in your site settigns the www.domain.com no longer works and instead of 404 it shows a default site.

I changed the code at https://github.com/givanz/Vvveb/blob/master/system/sites.php#L286-L292 and now a 404 will be shown for non matching domains, this change is available in latest.zip update.

You can use the attached plugin from the previous comment to redirect all www.domain.com traffic to domain.com to avoid the 404 page for the missing www.domain.com.
