VS Code slow on Windows after second last update

I am a Windows user, and since the second last update, VS Code has been running slow. Sometimes, after saving a project, there is a delay of a few seconds before the changes take effect. However, if I enable auto-save, it works fine. Another issue is that when I press Ctrl + Hover over a function, it takes some time to respond.
