I had an idea for the Threads feed (and window toggle) earlier today. I’m considering renaming it ‘Index’, and showing it before Chat by default if you’re visiting the channel for the first time. (Users will have many ways to tweak their preferences for default-tab)

Yeh. Every channel gets an incrementally improved Onboarding Page.

And the chat is still previewed off to the side so it’s obvious that there’s stuff going on on the regular.

Continuation of #40

What the front page of muni.town could look like, powered by Roomy.

If you keep scrolling down, you are seamlessly transitioned into The Chat.

I made this addition to the muni.town/index mock-up:

Those mirror the Categories on our Discord, I.e. Roomy

So the even the landing-page index will always have this direct tie-in to the chat, from a top-level (ungranular) POV.

I’ve been muddling through ideas of ‘onboarding-pages for channels’ in this issue, but the very first and simple Job to be Done here is quite simply to get this button-toggle going in both sidebar and app-body..

Image

..we need to reduce this existing toggle down to the same ℹ / 💬 toggle that’s going into the sidebar in #129

Which means we are cutting the Wiki view and merging it into ℹ (we think it stands for index/info)

Image

(I think we could keep the stylized book 📕 icon and 🪡 icon respectively for Pages and Topics respectively.
